Draftsman
Location: In Delft Office with occasional travelling.
Job Summary:
The Draftsman is responsible for creating detailed technical and production drawings for offshore projects. This role involves working closely with engineers and project managers to produce accurate and precise drawings that adhere to industry standards and project specifications that allow for production of components at ECE’s suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Drawing and Design: Creating detailed technical drawings, plans, and schematics for offshore structures, equipment, and systems using CAD software. Interpreting and incorporating engineering designs, sketches, and specifications into comprehensive production drawings.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Working closely with structural engineers, project engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure accuracy in drawings. Collaborating with other engineering team members to ensure consistency and adherence to drafting standards.
- Quality Assurance: Reviewing and verifying drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications and industry standards. Conducting quality checks implementing feedback from structural engineers and project engineers.
- Document Management: Maintaining organised records of drawings, revisions, and related documentation. Ensuring that all drawings are properly filed and easily accessible for future reference.
- Technical Support: Providing technical support and assistance to the engineering and project teams as needed. Assisting in the preparation of technical reports, documentation, and presentations.
- Material Selection Assistance: Supporting the structural engineer in selecting appropriate materials and production methods for offshore structures based on requirements relating to environmental factors, corrosion resistance, and structural integrity.
Key Requirements:
- HBO in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field is ideal; MBO and +5 years of working experience in a related field is also accepted.
- Proven experience as a draftsman is ideal, preferably in the offshore energy industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Strong technical drawing skills and attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of best practices, industry
standards, principles, standards and practices in the offshore environment. - Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
